We explored fine motor stations! It was also a good chance to work as a team! We rotated each station, switched partners and worked independently.
Today we practiced coloring inside the lines, this helps us develop our writing skills. We also worked on cutting straight lines to strengthen our fine motor development. Some of our friends cut grid patterns on pink paper for a letter P project! It was a lot of hard work but we all did a great job!
During our unit on polar regions, we learned that some arctic animals survive such cold temperatures by having a layer of blubber surrounding their bodies. The blubber protects them from the cold and icy water. We filled a glove with shortening (to simulate blubber), and placed our gloved hands inside. We then placed our gloved hands and bare hands in icy water. We learned that the “blubber” kept our hands toasty warm, while our bare hands got very cold!
