We had lots of fun Q-tip painting our silly giraffes
We strive to instill a sense of responsibility and pride in our Prepper friends. We encourage independence and taking ownership of our classroom. Preppers are taught to care for and respect our classroom, and in turn have free choice of centers and free play activities. A great way to promote confidence and pride is by creating classroom helpers. Our friends care for their own nap items, keep cubbies tidy, clean up independently after messy play and help serve others at meal and snack time. We also have lots of fun learning responsibility by being line leader, door holder, fish feeder etc. These friends are demonstrating their skills by passing out handwriting materials, checking and reporting the weather, and working on our calendar.
On Monday a few friends helped experiment with sand and slime. We found that certain ingredients did not take to the sand and therefore our experiment failed. This was a great example for the kids to learn that experiments are tests. Sometimes they don’t always go as planned. On Tuesday we decided to make glitter slime so the class could see a slime experiment succeed… and of course have fun playing with it.
