This month we are learning all about different kinds of habitats and which plants and animals live in each one. We focused on forests this week and each made our own brown bear to take home. We used our fine motor skills to roll clay into balls and rods to then bend and form into the shapes that made up our animal!
This week the Preppers have been learning all about the life cycles of insects and how they help our environment. We have loved learning about the different things bugs do and eat and have seen a lot of bugs in action on our nature walks this week!
We had so much fun during our first water day last Friday! Our friends enjoyed running through the sprinklers, playing with the water squirrels, and jumping in the puddles. We ended our water play with a yummy popsicle treat to celebrate sweet Eleanor’s birthday!
The Preppers enjoyed a little shady outdoor time in the courtyard today! We took some of our favorite big trucks and cars outside to drive on the little hills and took turns boosting ourselves up on the ledge.
We had a handful of friends who had birthdays during our school closure. We celebrated two of those friends today with yummy cookies during snack time! Happy belated 4th birthday, Graydon and Olivia!
The Preppers have been so excited to share their Mother’s Day presents with their families! They have worked very hard on them and learned all about the life cycle of plants and what plants need to survive. Happy Mother’s Day to all of our wonderful Prepper Moms!
We have been spending a lot of time lately talking about being sick and staying healthy. We learned all about proper hand washing techniques (“Tops, bottoms, in-betweens, tips and wrists and then they’re clean!”) and how to keep our germs from spreading to others as best as we can.
Today we did a germ science experiment where we discovered just how quickly one person’s germs can spread throughout our classroom simply by that person forgetting to wash their hands. What started out as one big, green sneeze turned into a classroom full of germy hands and toys!
Today we continued our unit on Dr. Seuss by reading Fox in Socks. We tried our best to repeat some of the silly tongue twisters of the story! We celebrated by wearing silly socks for Fox in Socks day!
We celebrated the birthday of one of our class’ favorite authors last week by kicking off our month long unit on Dr. Seuss and rhyming words! We loved dressing up as our favorite “Things” and eating green eggs and ham for breakfast!
We had so much fun spreading all of the love this week! The Preppers made their loved ones special cards and artwork to take home and enjoyed talking about who their valentines were.
We loved decorating our heart cookies and having a special Valentine’s snack, but I think passing out our valentines to our friends was everybody’s favorite part!
